Norwich Housing Society is a registered provider of social housing specialising in older person accommodation in Norwich. As such it is a ‘not for profit’ organisation with charity status
The Society is registered (L1405) with, and regulated by, the Homes and Communities Agency; and as an Industrial & Provident Societies Act company (11676R) with the Registry of Friendly Societies.
Norwich Housing Society is classified as an ‘exempt’ charity by the Charity Commission. This means that the Society has the same charity status as if it were regulated under the Charity Acts but to avoid regulatory duplication the Commission defers to the Homes & Communities Agency as the regulator of registered social housing providers.
Norwich Housing Society is also a member of the National Housing Federation and the Independent Housing Ombudsman Service.
Board Members receive no remuneration.
