I commenced my career in the early 1970s as an economist based in London before seeing the error of my ways and retraining as a town planner. I moved to Norfolk in 1978 and worked in local government for 10 years before helping set up one of the first specialist town planning consultancies in Norwich, eventually becoming a group partner at Bidwells. As a planning consultant, I worked on numerous development projects including the new Norfolk and Norwich Hospital, Kelling Heath Holiday Park, and the recent major development projects at UEA. I am now semi-retired but still advise on town planning matters, as well as being a member of my parish council.
I am married with two grown up children, enjoy cycling, walking, and travelling, and take a keen interest in most sports, current affairs, and cultural events particularly of a slightly quirky nature!
